No longer living in the quiet countryside, we are now quite happy living in the beautiful city of Toronto.
We still offer a fabulous collection of pieces ranging from mid-century modern design to French antiques with quite a lot in between. Interior styling and decorating is also offered.
Please check back frequently as I'll be updating with before and after photos as well as new acquisitions.

Kitchen and Dining Space - Before & After

Okay, moving on to the kitchen and dining space, since you've already seen a bit of it, here's the fabulous makeover.
We began with your typical bad 1970's cabinetry. You know the type that has the fake wood vinyl that is usually peeling at the corners. The hardware is just as bad. It's just plain unattractive and placed in the centre of the door; not handy at all. There was very little counter space, no dishwasher and the storage was not well laid out. In the dining area, the space was fine, the decoration was not to my liking at all. Unfortunately in the before photos we didn't get all the details. There was a cow border and a heart cut-out shelf. I'm sure you can see from all the other cow accents, it was bad.

We have cleared away some of the accents in preparation for the renovation. The interior wall has been removed.

In progress, we have painted the ceiling and added some lights for over the peninsula. Don't worry, the pink ceiling fixture is going.

Here is the final result. What a stunning kitchen now. The custom walnut cabinetry is amazing with its slab front and stainless pulls. The peninsula was extended for more counter space and extra seating. The counter is a laminate that has almost a concrete look to it. To keep within the budget, this was a great alternative to more expensive stone counters. There are pot lights and over the counter lighting and a vintage fixture over the sink. We added a beautiful glass tile back splash for a pretty accent. Simple roller blinds fit to the windows keeps the windows from being fussy at all. The ceramic tile floor was salvaged. Even though not what we would have chose to install, it was in very good condition and kept the budget down. In the dining area a vintage teak table and sideboard add that classic look to the space. The homeowner's personal photography was framed and is perfect for wall decor.
